If you already have a creeping suspicion that others are paying attention to your inbox, check your "last account activity". In view of the inbox, scroll all the way down, and at the lower right corner of the small text, you'll see the "operation of X minutes before your account :." Click "Details", and Gmail will reveal exactly when each IP address to access your account, plus what type of device they are using.
